Celebrate your baby’s first birthday and this special milestone with a cake smash photoshoot, capturing the joy & excitement on their little faces and making priceless memories with this fun photoshoot – who wouldn’t love diving into a giant cake?!

Cake smash sessions take place at my home studio and last around 1hr. They are suitable for babies from 11 – 24 months old & are a fabulous way to celebrate baby’s 1st birthday or any excuse to get a bit messy & take home some amazing photos at the end of it!

The session is split into two parts, starting with some simple portrait pictures of your little one, in an outfit of your choice from home. This, along with the cake smash pictures gives you a more varied final gallery of images at the end.

After the portrait pictures, I will dress the set whilst you dress your little one & then we move onto the cake smash part of the shoot – time to get messy!

With a theme chosen by you, I will create the perfect set for your little one to have some fun & I will be there to capture every moment so if you’re looking for something unique (and tasty!) then this one is for you!

How it works

Before the session

When you book in for your photoshoot you will pay a non refundable session fee which secures the slot in my diary and covers my time including preparation emails, phone consultations, any specific props or decorations for the set of your cake smash session at my studio and professional editing of the best images from the session. This will later be deducted from your chosen collection.

After the session

Approximately 2 weeks after your session you will receive a link to your private online gallery where can you view your beautifully edited images and decide on which of the below collections to purchase.

FAQ’S

What do i need to bring?

I provide everything you need for the session but I advise bringing your own wet wipes for the clean up if your baby has sensitive skin. For the portrait pictures, please bring the baby in their own outfit for these photos. You will also need to bring baby’s water cup along with some small snacks. I often stick these into the back of the cake if the baby isn’t interested in tasting it as this gives the illusion of eating the cake when they are actually reaching for their favourite snacks!

Can i bring my own cake?

As we will have discussed in the consultation, I provide everything for the shoot from the cake to the decorated set and the outfits, however you are more than welcome to bring your own cake if you prefer but please let me know at the time of booking.

Can the cake be dairy free?

Yes, the cake can be tailored to any allergies / intolerances your baby may have. I use an amazing local baker who makes the cakes to order and not only do they look amazing but they taste amazing too!

Can we have our session on the weekend?

Sessions are held Monday – Thursday morning’s but I do keep a handful of weekend slots free a month (Saturday’s only). Weekend sessions are charged at a £50 premium.

Where does the shoot take place?

I photograph all cake smashes from the safety and comfort of my home studio. It's fully catered for babies with changing facilities, a kitchen and a comfy sofa for mum and dad to relax on whilst I get to work!

How long does it take before we see the photos?

After the session, I will select a shortlist of around 40 of the best and most varied images, which I will then edit and invite you to view via a private online gallery where you can pick your favourites which will then be made available for you to download and keep. Producing your beautiful photo gallery will take many hours of work to get them ready for viewing. Please allow approximately 2-3 weeks to view them.
